The TD-17 SONG PLAYER is great for playing along to audio. Of course, you can also record a TD-17 performance directly into the module as well.

RECORDING WITH THE TD-17 SONG PLAYER
An audio performance is simple to record using just the TD-17.
WAV file recordings can be streamed directly from the SD card or even imported as user samples and triggered from any pad you like.
On the SD Card, you can record along to a chosen audio file by selecting the ‘SONG’ option in the recording screen.
The TD-17 Song Player will hold the most recent recording which can then be exported before continuing with more recording.
Record Audio Directly into the TD-17 via the mix-input
Use the mix-in on the back of the TD-17 to capture audio in realtime. No computer required. Anything connected to the mix-input can be captured directly into the module by pressing the record button.
The recording can then be ‘exported’ as a WAV file for use on MAC/PC.
These recordings or samples can also imported back into the TD-17 to be triggered from any trigger zone or pad of the kit.
Here are some ideas:
Connect a guitar or bass pedal board effects unit or keyboard and record the audio along with your playing
Record your band rehearsal by sending a stereo mix of the other instruments into the mix-in
Sample sounds directly at line level from a turntable or DJ mixer
Connect the line level output of a microphone preamplifier to record voice
sample your own drum and percussion sounds using any external mic preamp
