Brett Kingman BOSS KATANA MkII Patch Collection

Brett Kingman BOSS KATANA MkII Patch Collection

Brett Kingman

Brett Kingman is a professional guitar player who has toured with many icons of Australian music – but you may know him better as one of the pioneers of the Youtube guitar gear demo scene.

In 2008 Brett and his daughter Sadie made some short YouTube videos demonstrating guitar effects pedals, just for fun. The videos proved to be a hit with the global guitar playing fraternity, encouraging them to produce more.

Some 1500+ videos and over 38 million views later, the “Brett Kingman” channel is now acknowledged as one of the best of its kind in the world.

A SOUND FOR EVERY GIG

If you’re here, you probably already know about the global phenomenon that is the BOSS Katana family of guitar amps. If not, what better place to start than with some fantastic patches from Brett!

As a hired-gun touring player, Brett uses a wide range of guitars to give him the versatility and authentic tone that he needs for any given gig.

With that in mind, we’ve asked Brett to create a number of live sets with some of his favourite guitars – ranging from classic Strat and Tele tones to high octane humbucker sounds.

We’ll be continuing to update this page as Brett adds to his Katana tone palette, so make sure to check back!

LIVE SETS

First up, here’s Burgs using his Ernie Ball Music Man JP15-7. Since the guitar features both piezo and magnetic pickups, this live set encompasses both acoustic-style tones all the way up to glorious high gain. Have a listen right here:

TIPS AND TRICKS

As a Youtuber, Brett is obviously adept at recording in his home studio – and he’s already started discovering cool tips and tricks for his Katana! Here’s one handy video for those of you looking to record your Katana at home using external impulse response (IR) files, packaged alongside some twang and crunch tones with a Charvel Pro Mod Dinky superstrat.
